How to Schedule an Email in Outlook (Desktop, Web, and Mobile)

Scheduling emails in Outlook helps manage communications more effectively. This feature allows users to draft messages and set them to be sent at a later time, ensuring timely delivery even when you're unavailable. Here's how to schedule emails in different versions of Outlook.

Steps for Outlook Desktop

  1. Open Outlook and create a new email by clicking New Email.
  2. Compose your email as usual, including the recipient(s), subject, and body.
  3. Go to the Options tab in the ribbon.
  4. Click Delay Delivery in the More Options group.
  5. In the dialog box, under the Delivery Options section:
    • Check Do not deliver before and select the desired date and time.
  6. Click Close, then Send. The email will stay in your Outbox until the scheduled time.

Steps for Outlook Web

  1. Log in to Outlook Web using your credentials.
  2. Click New Message to draft your email.
  3. After composing, click the down arrow next to the Send button.
  4. Select Send Later and choose a date and time.
  5. Confirm your schedule by clicking Send.

  1. Open the Outlook app on your smartphone.
  2. Tap the + or Compose icon to create a new email.
